The Transaction Report provides comprehensive search capabilities with various filters to analyze transaction data across your business. This detailed reporting tool helps you understand transaction patterns, customer behavior, and revenue performance through both visual charts and detailed transaction data.
Step 1: Access the Transaction Report
Click Go to E-commerce.
Go to Reports.
Select Transaction from the Reports dropdown menu.
Step 2: Configure Report Filters
Primary Filters
Campaigns: Filter by specific campaigns to analyze transactions from particular marketing campaigns.
Product: Filter by specific products to understand which products generate the most transactions.
Processors: Filter by specific payment processors to analyze transaction processing performance.
Billing Type: Filter by billing type (Recurring or One Time) to separate subscription vs. single-purchase transactions.
Date and Time Filters
Date Range: Quick selection from predefined periods including Today, This Week, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month, Last Month, Past 2 Weeks, Last 3 Months, Last 6 Months, and Past Year.
Start Date: Custom start date for your analysis period.
End Date: Custom end date for your analysis period.
Business Logic Filters
Product Groups: Filter by product categories to analyze broader product performance trends.
Processor Groups: Filter by processor categories to analyze broader payment processing trends.
Billing Cycle: Filter by specific billing cycle numbers to analyze subscription renewal patterns.
Affiliates: Filter by specific affiliates to understand which marketing partners drive the most transactions.
Transaction-Specific Filters
Card Type: Filter by card types (MasterCard, Visa) to understand payment method preferences.
Attempt #: Filter by billing attempt numbers (1-9) to analyze retry patterns and success rates.
Order Type: Filter by order types including Sale, Upsell, Shipping, Recurring, and Recurring Shipping.
Status: Filter by transaction status including Approved, Declined, Failed/Unknown, and Pending.
Transaction Type: Filter by transaction types including Auth, Sale, Refund, and Void.
Lookup Fields
Use these fields to search for a specific transaction or customer directly, bypassing the standard date filters:
Order ID: Search by a specific order identifier.
Customer ID: Search by a specific customer identifier.
Email: Search by customer email address.
Last Name: Search by customer last name.
Transaction ID: Search by a specific transaction identifier.
Card Last 4 Digits: Search by the last 4 digits of the credit card used.
Step 3: Generate the Report
Configure your desired filters (campaigns, products, processors, billing type, date range, and any additional filters).
Click Search to generate the Transaction Report.
Step 4: Understanding the Visual Charts
Daily Transaction Metrics
New Sales (Pink): Total number of new signups and total dollar value of those signups for each day.
Recurring Bills (Blue): Total number of recurring charges and total dollar value of those recurring charges for each day.
Refunds (Orange): Total number of refund charges and total dollar value of those refunds for each day.
Total Revenue (Yellow): Total dollar revenue for each day, combining all transaction types.
Chart Features
Legend: Color-coded legend below the chart showing each metric with its corresponding color.
Tooltips: Hover over any bar to see detailed information including exact values and percentages.
Responsive Design: Chart automatically adjusts to show your selected date range with appropriate spacing.
Step 5: Understanding the Transaction Details Table
Below the charts, you'll find a comprehensive table that provides detailed information about each individual transaction:
Type: Transaction type with status badge (Sale, Upsell, Shipping, Recurring, etc.).
Customer: Customer name with clickable link to customer details page.
Date: Transaction date and time with relative time indicator (e.g., "2 hours ago").
Transaction ID: Gateway transaction identifier for tracking purposes.
Amount: Transaction amount in currency format.
Processor ID: Payment processor identifier.
Processor: Payment processor name.
3D-Secure: Whether the transaction was protected by 3D-Secure authentication.
Affiliate: Affiliate name and ID if the transaction came through an affiliate.
CC Number: Credit card number (masked for security).
Customer ID: Unique customer identifier.
First Name/Last Name: Customer's first and last name.
Order ID: Unique order identifier.
Order Type: Type of order (Sale, Upsell, Shipping, etc.).
Status: Transaction status with color-coded badge.
Response: Response text from the payment processor.
Actions: Credit card icon button to view detailed transaction information.
Export and Analysis
The Transaction Report includes a download feature that allows you to export your results to CSV format. The exported file will include:
Date Range Information: The specific date range used for your report.
Visible Columns Only: Only the columns you have configured to be visible in the table.
All Transaction Data: Complete list of transactions that match your filter criteria.
