The Decline Runner lets you search for previously declined transactions and schedule them for retry. It is split into two sections: Scheduled Jobs (retry jobs in progress) and Search Declines (find and queue new retries).
Step 1: Open the Decline Runner
Go to Merchants > Decline Runner.
Step 2: Review Scheduled Jobs
The Scheduled Jobs table at the top of the page shows all active and completed decline retry jobs. Columns:
Job ID: Unique identifier for the retry job.
User: The user who created the job.
Total: Total number of orders in the job.
Approved: Number of orders that were successfully retried.
Failed: Number of orders where the retry also declined.
Status: Current state of the job (e.g. running, paused, completed).
Available actions per job:
Pause / Resume: Click the pause icon to pause a running job, or the play icon to resume a paused one.
Delete: Click the trash icon to permanently delete the job. A confirmation modal will appear before the job is removed.
Step 3: Search for declined transactions
Use the Search Declines filters to find the transactions you want to retry:
Start Date / End Date: Date range for the original declined transactions. Defaults to the last 30 days.
Campaigns: Filter by one or more campaigns, or leave as All to include every campaign.
Charge Types: Filter by transaction type — Sale, Upsell, Shipping, Recurring, or Recurring Shipping.
Customer Declined: Filter by how many times the customer has been declined — from One Time up to 10 times or less.
Set your filters and click Search. The results table below updates with matching declined orders.
Each result row shows: Order ID, Customer ID, Amount, Charge Type, Decline Count, Processor, Response (the decline reason), Site ID, Gateway ID, and Transaction Type.
Step 4: Select orders to retry
Check the checkbox next to each order you want to retry. Use the header checkbox to select or deselect all visible rows at once.
Once at least one order is selected, a confirmation bar appears showing the count of selected orders and two options:
— Use Current Date: When enabled, the retry is submitted using today's date instead of the original transaction date.
— Save Selected Declines: Schedules the selected orders as a new retry job.
Click Save Selected Declines. The job is created and will appear in the Scheduled Jobs table at the top of the page.
