Mollie is a payment provider with a hosted card page. When a customer pays with Mollie, they enter their card and complete any 3-D Secure check on Mollie's page, so card details never pass through Admoji. Admoji creates the order, sends the customer to Mollie, and approves the order only once Mollie confirms the payment.
test_ are for test mode and keys that start with live_ are for real payments.Step 1: Create the Processor
Go to Merchants > Processors.
Select the Credit Card tab and click New.
On the General tab, choose Mollie from the Gateway dropdown.
Click the edit icon next to the gateway to open the Connect Gateway drawer.
Step 2: Enter and Validate Your API Key
Paste your Mollie key in API Key.
Optionally, enter your Profile ID (
pfl_...). Admoji then checks that the key belongs to that Mollie profile.Turn on Test Mode if you are using a
test_key, and leave it off for alive_key. The key prefix must match the mode.Click Validate. If the key is rejected, the message tells you what to fix: a key that does not match Test Mode, a key Mollie does not accept, or a key from another profile than the Profile ID.
Complete the rest of the processor form and click Save. The processor's Currency on the Settings tab is the currency Mollie charges. If Mollie is not enabled for your account yet, Save tells you so.
live_ key and keep the test one until its payments are settled. If you turn a Mollie processor off with the Active switch, it no longer appears in Add New Order, but you can still refund or release the payments it already took.
Step 3: Take a Mollie Order from the CRM
Go to For Customers > Add New Order and choose the Campaign.
In Payment method, choose Mollie hosted checkout. The selector only appears when the campaign has an active Mollie processor.
Pick the Mollie processor, then fill in the customer details and the products as usual. There are no card fields: the customer enters the card on Mollie's page.
Click Create Mollie checkout. The Mollie payment panel opens with the Payment link for the customer.
Click Copy payment link and send it to the customer. They pay on their own device. When they finish, Mollie sends them back to your campaign's website if its domain was approved for your account, or otherwise to a neutral Admoji page.
Click Check payment to see the current status. Admoji also updates the order on its own as soon as Mollie reports the result.
Once the customer is done on Mollie's page:
Paid — the order is approved.
Authorized — when the product or the processor is set to Auth + Capture (with no capture delay), Mollie only holds the amount. Capture or release it as shown in Step 4.
Failed — the payment is recorded as a decline.
Expired or canceled — the customer left the payment page without paying. The order is closed as Cancelled, not as a decline, so the customer does not get the Sign Up Payment Issue email.
After an unpaid result, click New checkout for this customer to send a new link without creating another customer. Click Leave this checkout to clear the panel and take another order; the payment stays on the order and you can follow it from Order Details.
If the checkout is refused before any payment is created (for example, because a product creates a subscription), the panel shows the reason and no order is created. Click Leave this checkout to take another order; the customer record is kept.
Step 4: Capture, Release or Refund a Mollie Payment
Open the order from the customer profile. In Order Details, and in the Orders window of Search, the Mollie payment panel replaces the usual refund, capture, void and reprocess actions, and Refund Order is disabled:
Capture payment — captures an authorized payment. Only the full amount can be captured.
Release authorization — cancels an authorized payment that has not been captured. The order is cancelled without charging the customer.
Refund payment — refunds a paid payment. Enter the Refund amount for a partial refund; the field shows how much is still available. Once the full amount is refunded, the order is cancelled.
Step 5: Take Mollie Payments on Your Website
Your website backend can create Mollie checkouts with the Open API, using a Full Access API key. Never use that key in the browser.
Create the customer with
POST /api/v2/open/customers, as for any other order.Call
POST /api/v1/open/payments/mollie/checkoutwithCustomerID,SiteID,ProcessorID,Products(each withProductIDandQuantity), a uniqueCheckoutReference(8–80 letters, digits,-or_) and theRedirectUrlof your return page. The customer must already have access to that campaign. Optionally, sendTransactionTypesaleorauth; otherwise the product and processor settings decide. Send anIdempotency-Keyheader, as with every Open API POST.Redirect the customer to the
CheckoutUrlin the response. When the customer comes back to your
RedirectUrl, callGET /api/v1/open/payments/mollie/operations/{OperationID}and show the result. Keep showing a pending message until the response confirms the outcome: Mollie also sends customers back to that page when they cancel. To capture, release or refund from your backend, call
POST /api/v1/open/payments/mollie/operations/{OperationID}/capture,/releaseor/refundwith a uniqueReferencefor that action. The amount defaults to the full payment; for a partial refund, sendAmount.
RedirectUrl has to be approved by the Admoji team when Mollie is turned on for your account. If you retry a checkout after a timeout, send the same CheckoutReference and the same body: Admoji returns the existing checkout instead of charging twice. The same reference with a different cart is refused.Related articles
