When you mark a customer or a payment as a chargeback alert, you can also record which alert service sent it. That way you can tell, for example, how many of your alerts were RDR auto-refunds and how many came from Ethoca.
These are the alert types:
RDR: Visa Rapid Dispute Resolution, which refunds the transaction automatically to stop the dispute.
Ethoca: Alerts from Ethoca (Mastercard).
CDRN: Cardholder Dispute Resolution Network alerts.
Verifi CDRN: CDRN alerts received through Verifi.
Other: Any other alert service.
Step 1: Choose the Alert Type When You Mark the Customer
Go to For Customers > Search and open the customer.
Click Add Marks.
Tick Chargeback Alert. The Alert Type field appears below it.
Choose the type in Alert Type. The field is optional: you can leave it empty if you do not know the service.
Click Save.
Step 2: See the Alert Type
In the customer profile, General Info shows the Alert Type of the customer.
In Order Details > Transactions, the Alert Type column shows the type recorded on each payment. Only an alert type sent with the API is recorded on the payment (Step 3). A type chosen in Add Marks is saved on the customer, so there the column shows a dash.
Step 3: Send the Alert Type with the API
If your alert service is connected to Admoji through the API, send AlertType together with "Option": "cbalert" in the mark-chargeback call. The type is saved on the customer and on the payment:
$ curl -X POST 'https://openapi.admoji.com/api/v2/open/customers/mark-chargeback' \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-H "Authorization: ApiKey secret_492796e421a34666a5695d53cd311111" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: 7c41f0d2-2b9e-4a63-8d1f-5e0b9a3c6d24" \
-d '{
"CustomerID": 12148089,
"Option": "cbalert",
"AlertType": "Ethoca",
"GatewayTransactionID": "8f2c14a0-3b77-4e21-9c55-1d0e6a4b7f31"
}'
The accepted values are
RDR,Ethoca,CDRN,VerifiCDRNandOther. Any other value returns AlertType can be equal to: RDR, Ethoca, CDRN, VerifiCDRN, Other.AlertTypeonly works withcbalert. Withcborrefund, the call returns AlertType is only valid with Option=cbalert.If you mark a customer again without
AlertType, the type already recorded is kept.
The rest of the call works as described in How to Mark a Chargeback with the API.
Step 4: See Alerts by Type in the Affiliate Report
The Affiliate Report shows, for each affiliate, the Chargebacks and Alerts columns, and the alerts split by type: RDR Alerts, Ethoca Alerts, CDRN Alerts, Verifi CDRN Alerts and Other Alerts. The types are counted from the alert type recorded on each payment, so send AlertType with the API to have your alerts counted by type.
Unknown Alerts counts the alerts that have no type on record, such as the ones marked before alert types were available.
